Our adoption program is designed to thoughtfully match each dog with their forever home. Through careful screening, education, and ongoing support, every adoption is structured to set both the dog and adopter up for lasting success. We carefully consider factors such as lifestyle, temperament, energy level, size, breed tendencies, and household dynamics to create successful matches for both the dog and adopter. We believe taking the time to make the right match greatly decreases return rates. This process is not for someone looking to get a dog quickly, it is for someone looking for the right dog for them.
Surrender
Death Row Dogs Sanctuary accepts dogs from overcrowded shelters, rescues, and owners facing difficult circumstances when other options are limited. Each dog entering our care receives individualized evaluation, decompression, and rehabilitation, allowing us to responsibly place them on a path toward a stable and permanent future.
Emergency Boarding
Our emergency boarding program provides a safe place for dogs whose owners are entering drug or alcohol treatment programs. During this difficult time, we care for their dogs so owners can focus on recovery without the fear of losing their companion. Our goal is to keep dogs out of shelters, preserve the bond between owner and pet, and support reunification whenever possible.
